The Re-Mains

The Re-mains meets Tony Windsor

It’s a little late to tell this tale but it’s a good story nonetheless. as the band was setting up on stage for what was to be their last show at the The City Tavern for the 2005 Country Music Fest, Mick and myself were approached at the foot of the stage by one of our law fraternity friends, Mr Michael Mc Hugh. With him was none other than the Federal Member for New England, My Tony Windsor. Anybody watching the news of late would know that Tones is one of the very few people letting the rest of the country know what a pack of insideous tossers the current government really are. The evidence of course is everywhere. In the case of Mr Windsor, its an issue of blatant bribery and the bare-arsed denial in the aftermath. Look in the various news outlets if you need clarification of this particular political debacle, but it must be said that Tones has put his personal reputation on the line to go against the lies and smear tactics of the coalition. The Re-mains are as left wing as they are country rock and roll, so being presented with a clearly jovial Mr Windsor at one of our shows was something of an honour. I personally told him to “keep it up - I hate those bastards more than anything.” He had a beer in his hand and was ready for Country Rock and Roll action. It was a moment to better the Ploughboys meeting Pauline Hanson at the last festival. At least Tony is 100% in the fray. A bit like us - he’s at the coalface.

Thanks for that one Michael McHugh. For all your legal stuff, go to The Law Company.
